Empowering Women Entrepreneurs Program

Updated: Jul 17

Steel Chicks Founder and CEO Maria Mavrikos had the pleasure of delivering a keynote at the 2026 Empowering Women Entrepreneurs (EWE) Program Launch on 6 May.

Delivered at Eastern Innovation, ‘The Power of Collective Momentum’ brought together established business leaders, emerging entrepreneurs, and community partners, and highlighted the impact of mentorship, peer support, and community in helping women in business grow and succeed. Maria shared her lessons learned in building her social enterprise, Steel Chicks, emphasising the importance of creating opportunities for women in safeguarding the future of the industry.

Over the course of three months, 15 women looking to launch or scale their business will receive mentoring, workshops, and dedicated networking opportunities at a significantly discounted cost. The program offers practical tools to help entrepreneurs to achieve meaningful business growth, with workshop dates running from June to August. Big thanks to Eastern Innovation, the City of Monash, and Sharrock Pitman Legal for delivering this event, and for their invaluable support in creating real opportunities for female entrepreneurs and leaders.
