Introducing Maddie

Meet Maddie: Customer Relationship Manager at Calibre Steel and a super passionate Steel Chick!

Maddie loves watching steel grow from its earliest stages and transform into large-scale infrastructure: railway stations, construction projects, mining and transport assets, trucks, buildings, hospitals, and manufacturing sites. When a project wraps, she always asks for a photo—so she can share it with her team, because she’s genuinely proud of what they created together.

Outside of steel, Maddie is working to be a strong role model for her young family, showing them what it means to strive for excellence and work hard to achieve your goals. Bringing a rich and diverse background with her, Maddie is a first-generation Australian with Sri Lankan heritage, a trained dancer, and an intuitive cook who can turn a handful of ingredients into something impressive. When she needs a boost, her go-to song is ‘Horses’ by Daryl Braithwaite, and her bucket list includes an African safari.

Maddie’s advice for other steel chicks: watch the strong women in the space, drawing on their advice, trials, and triumphs. And live by a ‘work hard, play harder’ mindset: there should always be a holiday on the calendar!
