South East Career and Try-a-Trade Expo

A huge thanks to everyone who stopped by for a chat with Steel Chicks at South East LLEN’s South East Career and Try a Trade Expo.

We had an incredible time connecting with over 5,000 secondary students and future tradies at KCC Park on Tuesday. Alongside organisations in trades and manufacturing, we showcased hands-on careers in steel and spoke to hundreds of young people about pathways available to them—from fabrication and logistics to engineering and beyond.

Our stand was buzzing with energy and curiosity and real-life career chats, and we loved sharing what a future could look like for kids keen to explore careers in the steel industry. A big shoutout especially to the next-gen Steel Chicks we talked to who told us they’re interested in welding apprenticeships—go after it girls! You’re the future of steel, and we can’t wait to see you in our network.
