Help young women build pathways into rewarding steel careers
The Steel Chicks Work Experience Program connects young women in years 10, 11 and 12 with real industry opportunities, giving them meaningful exposure to steel manufacturing and construction workplaces with hosts in our network.
Steel Chicks works closely with industry partners to ensure placements are meaningful, appropriate, and aligned to real career pathways.
The program offers students:
– Structured, supported work experience placements to help explore career options
– Real insight into day-to-day operations in steel manufacturing and construction environments
– Opportunities to build practical skills and confidence
– Connection to inclusive employers and future career pathways
The program offers employers:
– Opportunity to engage early with future workforce talent
– A structured program for the student to follow to get the most out of their placement
– Mentoring support for the student delivered by experienced industry professionals
– Opportunity to help build a more diverse and sustainable industry and reach ESG goals
